Do you suffer with allergies?

Do you have seasonal allergies ??
I am constantly hearing from people who have one or more allergies and how they suffer physically from seasonal or food allergies. Many people are on shots or take various medications to alleviate their allergies symptoms. This month’s article is about the natural things you can take to help with allergies.

First, let’s talk about the most common allergy symptoms – Sneezing, itchy eyes, nose or throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, coughing, watery eyes and horrible sinus headaches. All these symptoms are quite irritating to those who suffer from allergic reactions to the world around us. I remember my Mother always had to carry a handkerchief because of her allergies.

So, if you’re tired of taking various medications and want to try something natural – here are some things you can take to get relief from your allergies. Keep in mind that allergies cause inflammation and this is what causes the symptoms. So something that reduces inflammation will help your allergies.

  1. Omega 3 fatty acids –Omega 3 fatty acids are naturally anti-inflammatory, so they reduce inflammation and shrink the nasal passages. This reduces the allergy symptoms you experience. Omega 3 fatty acids can be found in many foods – seafood, walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, seaweed, edamame, kidney beans or soybean oil. Omega 3 can also be found in fish oil supplements. When purchasing fish oil, first make sure the fish oil has vitamin E in it – fish oil without vitamin E can turn rancid easily. Also, make sure the fish oil comes from small cold water fish – this will reduce the chance of mercury toxicity. The fish oil I take has both of these factors in it – here is the link for what I take https://bit.ly/2Nd6bxp.
  2. Vitamin C – Helps to clear the blocked sinuses.Vitamin C is a weak antioxidant so it does reduce inflammation, and will help to boost your immune system. You can get vitamin C from many foods – green, red, yellow or orange peppers, citrus fruits, tomatoes, broccoli, guava, kiwi, etc. I take Vitamin C a few times a week – here is a link for what I take https://bit.ly/2KuDXOK
  3. Probiotics – Probiotics keep the good bacteria in our digestive system in control. It gives you more of the good bacteria and gets rid of the bad bacteria. Taking a high quality probiotic on a daily basis will increase your immune system efficiency and decrease the immune system’s response to allergens. Probiotics also reduce inflammation. Everyone should be taking a daily probiotic – here is the link for what I take https://bit.ly/2q2sfBt.
  4. Bromelain – Bromelain is found in pineapple and is an enzyme that will reduce irritation in allergic diseases like asthma.I take a supplement called Bromelain that is equal to more than 200 pineapples. Here is the link to the type and brand of Bromelain I take https://bit.ly/2Sdf4tE.
  5. Antioxidants – There are many antioxidants – like I said Vitamin C is an antioxidant. Antioxidants come from citrus fruits, grapes, and other fruits. Antioxidants reduce inflammation and boost your immune system. Depending on the strength of the antioxidant it can fight off asthma attacks. I take an antioxidant daily to reduce inflammation and help to boost my immune system. Here is a link for the powerful antioxidant I take, it is called OPC3 https://bit.ly/2AlZqEO.

There are other vitamins and minerals that can help with your allergies – Magnesium, Vitamin E, Turmeric, Quercetin and others. This is just a glimpse into some natural things that can help your allergies. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
