Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Everyone loves a cheesy gooey philly cheesesteak – well here is a low carb version for you in casserole form.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2-3 large bell peppers – I used a package of colored peppers from the produce aisle
  • 1 large onion – again I bought a package of chopped onions
  • ½ tbsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 6-8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Cook the ground beef in a large pan over medium-high heat, season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally
  • Add the peppers and onions to the pan, season with spices, cook for 10-15 minutes until peppers and onions are soft
  • Add the cream cheese and broth, stir together until mixed well and melted
  • Transfer the mixture to an 8x10 casserole dish, cover with provolone slices
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and slightly browned
  • Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before serving
